GARDICOT

Polycom’s GARDICOT material is craft paper or Presspaper coated with diamond-shape epoxy resin in ‘b’ stage.

EPOXY COATING

CRAFT PAPER

EPOXY COATING

The craft paper or presspaper is machine coated on one/both sides with required thickness of epoxy resin. The ‘B’ stage coating process is to be maintained. Then while final usage, this becomes tack-free at 110°c-130°c and gets bonded.

ADVANTAGES
• Safe tolerance of axial and mechanical forces.
• Internal strengthening of coils.
• Helps in faster drying & filling as the liquid insulating agent penetrates  the pressboard insulation completely in a short period.
• Minimised danger of partial discharges.

APPLICATION

Gardicot is used in gas / oil insulated transformers for electrical insulation and coil strengthening. The uncoated portions enable quick evacuation of air & moisture.

AVAILABILITY
Gardicot composites are available in various thicknesses in rolls & narrow widths on request.
